The Discovery Creative and Technology Centre incorporates a lateral expansion joint to minimize vibrations from surrounding streets. The joint is vertical.
A SITURA RedLINE® Expansion Joint was designed to accommodate the varying movements and joint gaps, which ranged from 1 to 6 inches.
The RedLINE® Expansion Joint was installed in hot rubberized asphalt with additional mechanical fixations. Site connections were minimal, with maximum joint lengths prefabrication wherever possible.
The installed SITURA Expansion Joints are performing well. The building has been in operation for the pas decade with no call backs.
